Digital Shamanism

Well if you must use the Facebook™
Make sure it aids in Recapitulation.
Nothing doing online
Among disillusioned Dreamers.
Where be the seasoned Warriors?
(They don't conform to techie patterns).
Out here all anyone ever hears
Is a whole lot of dissonant Tonalities;
Butthurt arguments born of hypersensitivity, overindulgence, &
Sentimentality.
So strap on your #VR Headset
Let's traverse this silicon tundra ...
Ignite some sage grass or incense.
Fling open the Windows® of perception!
Mortality is a predator watching — waiting
To pounce upon those who are at unawares :o

Seven for the Pleiades —

Sister stars of ancient lore.

Some think to call them home

(others think a little more).

Seven were the wonders

Of the world in ages past.

To day they've been updated,

But short term memories don't last.

Seven notes of melody

Comprise all tonic scales.

Infinite variations give us

Endless sonic tales.

Seven sins prove deadly

For those lacking self-control.

Get to know your triggers,

Or the outcome won't be droll.

Seven are the Chakras;

Vortices of vital breath.

Meditate on these and see

Horus vanquish Seth!

Seven senses function

If a dreamer is wide awake.

Sixth be the so-called psychic,

Seventh: uncoiled ethereal snake.

Seven seals will break

When Judgment Day arrives.

Then we'll know who excelled

Or erred by wasting precious lives ...

Tmesis Dreamt

Tmesis Dreamt

Waiting at the bus stop
There were many passersby.
Windows like a subway
Mesmerized an avid spy.

Went around downtown
Met up with friends
But circled back.

Nobody's surprised when
Crazy trains go off the track.

Tmesis "The Kid" had Dreamt it ALL

And between those moments
In another special place,

Illusion was propped up
As nature showed its
Lovely face.

A female most desired
Made her entrance full of grace.
Bliss briefly transpired
But disappeared without a trace —

Tmesis "The Bard" Dreamt thoughts to scrawl

Nervous jitters shocking
Hacking backdoor into brain.
Alcheringa spilled out
Daylight shone against the grain.

Amid mad hems and haws
High elocution
Broke on through,

Barricades have been cleared
Now elide by like a shrew ...

Tmesis "The Mage" Dreamt held in thrall

The Heart Sutra (Special Edition w/ Podcast)

The Heart Sutra

When Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva was practicing
the profound Prajna Paramita,
he investigated and perceived the five Skandhas (heaps)
and saw that they were all non-existent,
thus securing his deliverance from all suffering and difficulty:

"Shariputra, form does not differ from emptiness;
emptiness does not differ from form.
Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form.
So too are feeling, cognition, mental function
and consciousness in relation to emptiness.

Shariputra, all dharmas are
empty of characteristics.
They are not created, not annihilated,
not impure, not pure,
and they neither increase nor decrease.

Therefore, in emptiness there is no form,
feeling, cognition, mental function, or consciousness;
no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind;
no sights, sounds, smells, taste, touch, and ideas;
no field of the eyes, up to and including
no field of mind-consciousness,
and no ignorance or ending of ignorance,
up to and including no old age and death,
or ending of old age and death.

There are no Four Noble Truths, no wisdom and no gain.
Because nothing is gained, the Bodhisattva,
through reliance on Prajna Paramita,
has no hindrances in his heart.
Because there is no hindrance, he is not afraid,
is free from contrary and delusive ideas
and attains the Final Nirvana.

All Buddhas of the past, present and future
attain enlightenment through reliance on Prajna Paramita.
Therefore, know that Prajna Paramita
is a great spiritual mantra,
a great bright mantra, a supreme mantra,
an unequalled mantra!

It can remove all suffering; it is genuine and not false.
That is why the mantra of Prajna Paramita was first spoken."

Recite it thus:

GATE GATE PARAGATE PARASAMGATE — BODHI SVAHA!

The Eternal Moment is back!

New and improved as ever before

Relucent splendour blinds third eye
Dreams and daylight interchangeable

Parallel existence multiplying all around us

Only the most perceptive people can see it
Undivided among merely apparent multiplicity

Magnificent Monad splintered in fractal infinity

Universal memory stretched beyond spacetime

Everything is obvious to anyone lit from within.
Rational answers for uncouth creatures acting civil?

Such minds are secondary to silent Will at work
Any mystic sage or skilled sophist knows

That rarefied Truth puts an onus on us observers

We are the coauthors of our assumed Reality

Heroes, rascals and zeroes: typecast tropes

Arbitrary labels define how society evolves

Don't fall for shadows playing on cave wall

Even believing your own story is suspect

Doubt logical assertions as illogical ones

Flip switches, push buttons, recalculate

Having plotted a course — cast off now

Drifting past present and future until

Reaching an ageless continent

Always living; constant instant!

Perspective Analysis

Perspective Analysis

We are not the only witnesses
Nor numen that wades currents
By riversides and oceans
Within a vast, unnamed expanse ...

Though our heads do dash against these stones here on the shore

Since we can barely help but to think in contradictions
Gravely unaware of the true scope of our visions
Forgetting that in the big picture relativity dissolves

Into the reality that opposites don't in fact oppose
Nor do they actually preside as bi-polar compositions
Clear-cut propositions or unchanging absolutes
It is as always, a question of perspective.

Yet there lies the heart and matter of the mystery at hand:

That when things lose their strictly human meaning
They quite naturally regain (so to speak)
Their universal truthfulness within the silent mind of One beholder.

Blasphemy & Sanctity

Blasphemy & Sanctity

The Blasphemy of these present times
Is considered Sacred in future climes
Whereas what's legitimate now
Will bring demerit later somehow.

Balance is a byproduct
Of naturally opposing forces
Synthethizing polar extremes
Playing along with overarching themes.

Similarly, language is a malleable substance
Subject to vicissitudes of cultural interaction.
Phrases come en vogue and go out of style like there's no tomorrow!
An intellectual deficit with no ideas left to borrow...

Now God is naught but an outmoded concept.
An atavistic term from a past most can't accept.
New ways must be found to speak about Spirit.
Forget what we've been told; dare to be BOLD

Listen closely for coded inspiration.
Animus informs us, if we rise to the occasion.
Unstruck sound summons saints amid a timeless desert
To vanquish personal follies—transmuted by one's effort!

Echoes of Emptiness

Echoes of Emptiness

"Form is no other than Emptiness and Emptiness is none other than Form." ~ Heart Sutra

People like to spout the above quote without having the slightest inkling about Madhyamika Buddhism.

Emptiness is the highest truth in Madhyamika (middle-way) Buddhism but it doesn't mean nothingness as nihilists might think; its meaning connotes Interdependence.

Emptiness / Interdependence has various definitions. Basically, nothing can be said to arise alone or exist solely from its own side. As for eternal essences? None can be observed anywhere, at any time!

An instance of Emptiness: sight does not occur without something to see, just as the existence of perceivable objects is affirmed only when they are seen.  Neither comes first since they arise mutually.

Madhyamika points to a conciliatory middle-path between opposite extremes that are normally thought of as mutually exclusive.  Polarized thinking is dualistic and hence probably mistaken.

Many Buddhists consider a proper understanding of Sunyata (Void / Emptiness) to be the highest realization attainable, equivalent to enlightenment itself.

Emptiness is known as Mayavadi (Voidist) philosophy by various Hindu schools of thought that reject it as Atheism. Their adherents require a personal deity to latch onto and often cannot intuit the merits of Sunyata.

This is partly due to a purely intellectual understanding of the concept, which is hardly enough.  Without regular meditative practice, Sunyata cannot actually be experienced and so fails as mere theory.

Contrary to common belief, Buddhist Sutras on Emptiness do not assert that the universe is an illusion.  That is another type of dualism reconciled by the doctrine of Two Truths.

These Two Truths are flip-sides of a coin.  On the one hand, material manifestation is regarded as 'provisional' or constantly shifting.  However, this does not imply that physical laws have no actual bearing.

On the other hand, Ultimate Reality is transcendental to the first, yet includes and encompasses it.  Form is Emptiness and Emptiness is Form, remember?  Neither is more important nor real.

Indeed as Arya Nagarjuna noted: "There is not the slightest difference between Samsara and Nirvana."  Why? Because cyclic existence and Emptiness ARE each other!

Those who think that the universe is an illusion are in the same boat as those that view God as being outside of creation and not within it.

It's not our universe that is illusory but the scummy perceptive lenses that we view it through. Even though it fluctuates, physical reality is quite sacred in character.

No doubt perception molds reality to a great extent but the fundamental matter / energy thereby molded is itself real or better said: Ethereal.

From holy visions to hallowed sounds — running the gamut from psyche to senses — these are all echoes resounding in Emptiness!

Qualified Non-Dualism

Qualified Non-Dualism

Everything comes together
Folding back in on itself
When objective observance collapses then

Subjective lucidity dawns in the dreamer's sky
Bathing sense faculties with absolute clarity

The edges of perception are defined by limited awareness
But now basic consciousness reasserts its boundlessness
Attention engulfs whole body-mind spectrum
Stretching out among forms from amorphous fullness
As ardor burns brightly in ascending and descending evolutionary currents

Breath ignites blood to animate pneuma

Poised at that perfect equilibrium
Where all waves weave cognitive patterns
While an integral system properly interprets

Glimmering movements through either implicit or explicit orders of Being

Querulous Quanta

Querulous Quanta

Where hath thou gone, entangled phantom particle?

Our magnetic dipoles now spin out of sync
Once we were non-local as well as atemporal
Transcending bounds of space-time continuum
Yet liminal constraints inhibit subatomic orbits
Macroscopic systems become subject to entropy
Force of ill-bred habits subdues all organisms
Thought overtakes Consciousness by quantity not quality
Feeling lost within false realms — stunted, numb and mute
Entities must learn transmutation from raw elements to highest Ether

It is presently passing; make good on this opportunity or else be extinguished!

Second Syntax

"Did the universe really begin?";
and, "Is the theory of the Big Bang true?"
These are not really questions, although they sound like they are.
The real question is whether or not
the only syntax that exists
is the syntax that requires,
as statements of fact
"beginnings", "developments", and "ends".
Other syntaxes exist.
There is one which demands
that varieties of intensity be taken as facts.
Within that syntax, "nothing begins" and "nothing ends".
Therefore, birth, for example, is not a clean, clear-cut event;
but rather, birth is a specific type of intensity;
and so is maturation;
and so is death.
A man of that syntax, looking over his equations,
finds that he has calculated enough varieties of intensity
to say with authority
that the universe never began,
and will never end.
He will conclude that the universe has gone through, is now going through, and will forever go through
endless fluctuations of intensity.
A man of that syntax could very well conclude that the universe itself
is the chariot of intensity,
and that a person can board it
to journey through changes without end.
He will conclude all that, and much more,
perhaps without ever realizing
that he is merely confirming
the syntax of his mother tongue.

~ Carlos Castaneda

Second Syntax

Incessant internal banter
The Tower of Babel spins
Yarns strewn throughout one's ego
Like play by play commentary
In a vessel that never fills

Do not distress overly much
If broken tape throws for a loop
When perception sullies memories
Everybody finds their mind fumbles
While understating sooth

Yet verbal thought be but a bough
Growing from the trunk of consciousness
There are countless others anyhow
Like silent knowledge (Gnosis)
Dreams, and consensual bliss
