Oda A La Musa (Rare Bilingual Edition)

Oda A La Musa

Vamos centauro |) - -'`===> tu flecha encanta

Como un flamenco del Mauro!

Translation (Ode To The Muse):

She is The Star

Whom symbolizes what she seals

[ Sacred female of Sagitta ]

Although she may not know it

She causes knowing when this madman stirs

Roused by her gypsy soul

Archer over the bridge

We raise you another Magniloquent verse:

Let's go centaur |) - -'`===> your arrow enchants

Like a Moorish flamenco!

Μέλαινα

Μέλαινα

You're a breath of fresh air

Breezing in au contraire

Same old places transformed

By the laughter we share

Comes to it cool and coy

Milady meets the real McCoy

Her stony exterior is stormed

But she don't fall for a decoy

There is none other so ostentatious

Nor with a body quite that bodacious

You move, evolve, play and outperform

These be true words—never mendacious

Daughter of Hades; blessed by Apollo

In no wise is this humble man hollow

Do you desire depth beyond the norm?

Then let's take tight hold and one another follow...

Ennui

Ennui

The one who'll love
Is not on this world
As far as these senses can tell.

Unless she lies under ashes
Or sits still with polar glaciers
Or stands at the gateway to hell.

She's such a dark stranger
Wearing Nibelung skin
And bearing the same scars as he.

Thundershowers pose no danger
To neither her nor her kin
Those of us forged in the depths of the sea.

If on this planet you are
Dearest twin-sister star
Will wait for you under full moon.

If beyond this planet you dwell
Oh handmaiden of Hel
Do hope to run into you soon...

Frog Prince Syndrome

"The women in this town
Won't give me so much as a peck.
 Those where I come from
They even stretch out their neck!"
~ Roque Dalton

Frog Prince Syndrome

- I -
Far from Principality he wanders
Witnessing wreckage and wonders
Playing a peasant that ponders
Impoverished as one who squanders
Rejected by raucous responders

- II -
Woe unto this Prince
His disguise too effective
Mismatched with Prima Donnas
(they are rather selective)
Whoever would kiss and
Transform toad thus defective?

- III -
There is none yet worthy
To claim him highly prized
But when they find each other
Both of them shall be surprised!

- IV -
Many a fine fly remains

To be snared by kingly tongue
Thus this prince swims alone
Through thick swamps on his own ...

- V -
Yes that's his lot
With hackneyed cliches and a hollow plot
Rambling until every rattling bone starts to rot
No backup on the way; his words all he's got
Holding on tight if only to take a long shot
You get the gist
¿(or perhaps maybe not)?

Marine Metaphors

Marine Metaphors

Flare up passion!

Fry the fish
For they say that she
Is a sumptuous dish.

Taking after Gaia

Like sisters Gish
Wrestling with Triton
Oceania's deepest wish.

If any Cancer

Attempts to squish
Slick Pisceans stir
Wondrous waves, washing swish!

Oh Incompatibility

Oh Incompatibility

Every pot does have its lid but hey: some of us are Pans
Pan-theistic, pan-optical, pan-tonality!

She aptly called it The Curse of Being Well-Rounded
Neither altogether here, nor left behind back there

An overflowing plenum, which even the finest vessel can't contain
Wayward rivers break down dams to flood valleys

Alone in their totality  liquid outrunning quiddity
Landing us between despair and disparity

Once we were conjoined; sharing joy as well as sorrow
Yet those yesterdays have gone, with no promise of tomorrow.

Our time together endeth now
May he treat you right . . . Never quite knew how.

Logos Prophorikos

Author's Note: This piece is the sister-poem to: Logos Endiathetos.

Logos Prophorikos

Humanity reveres the image, since it alone evades all-encompassing definitions of itself while still providing thoroughgoing expositions for everything else.

Entire civilizations are fashioned after the cutting edge visions of prophets, because they dare to dream much more vividly than the rest of us combined.

Panoramic vistas overbrim with sheer significance
finding resonance within the eyes of keen beholders.

Pictures in motion captivate our attention and lull intellects
as we forget that cinema shares its esprit with real life.

But then there are those rare occasions when Icon speaks from two mouths; reconciling masculine noumenon to feminine phenomenon...

Amid a recurring interplay of scrumtrulescent young actors.

Come Heaven or Hanging Comets (Bi-Lingual Edition)

Come Heaven or Hanging Comets

Together, we can confront anything
Dearest Suz, our astral chords are intertwined
Although these bodies may not be joined
We shall conquer destiny itself
Beauteous Queen of Swords
He who guards your back
Does not merely wish to lift your gown
But rather seeks a way to avert failure
While proving that you really ought to love him
So leave the gates open for thine humble disciple to enter thy majesty!

Aunque Se Venga El Cielo o Cometas Colgantes

Juntos, nos podemos enfrentar contra cualquier cosa
Querida Suz, nuestras cuerdas astrales estan atadas
Aunque estos cuerpos no esten unidos
Conquistaremos el destino
Bella dama de espadas
El quien te guarda la espalda
No tan solo quiere levantar vuestra falda
En vez busca alguna manera de evitar fracasar
Mientras tratar de comprovar que lo debes amar
Por eso deja vuestra puerta abierta para darle entrada al discipulo, maestra!

Absurdist Posts A Personals Ad

Absurdist Posts A Personals Ad

Single male, pushing forty
(a dodgy old sketch-bag to be sure)
Seeks feminist basket-case:
"Let's iron things out!"

Fond of breathtaking landscapes, possessing remarkable acumen
And overwhelmed by a robust desire to nurture
This particular specimen cannot help but hunt high-caliber quarry
Since he often envisions himself as a champion deep down

In his short span he has met insurmountable obstacles
Employing wits that match sinews on an endomorph frame
Tanned during days spent along Central-America's isthmus
Hatching ploys for coup d'etat among the dissident waifs
Of post Cold War colonialism—beyond Liberty's gates

Longs to play mind-games with an equal who hails from greener pastures
Before locking legs with her to enact pantomimes
Which imitate subversive carnal acts portrayed on celluloid
By dint of supra-objectifying lens

Would not mind siring a race of iconoclastic malcontents
(if only to sabotage Neoliberalism astride its unremitting march)
So please respond post-haste using code-phrase:
"Amantes sunt amentes!"

** Offer valid indefinitely to she who won't settle
for abusive, two-faced cons who'll just tarnish her mettle
**

Unloving

Unloving

Accusing him of selfishness
She is not self-aware
Promotes her work well
But leaves him threadbare

He lays patient siege
Yet her walls are unscalable
Trying to soothe her bruised heart
Which remains unassailable

Every sound from his voice
Backfires without fail
Any action he takes
Her critique does derail

There were once brighter days
When their thoughts were in sync
Mutual vibes; bodies entwined
Now peace falls apart in a blink!

It happens to most of us
Though we dread its arrival
Roads lead to dead ends
Sweet words turn to libel

[This is the lemonade squeezed from the bitter limes of a rancid romance].
